Think I'm killing the plants called them all by name before I left. Gave them water to quench their thirst but the soil is dead and unrepentant. Contemplated calling in favours, a green-thumbed thriller-hell-raiser-killer.

We came into some property when my neighbours died. An acreage left in their will for me came as a surprise. There tucked behind a photograph a note we couldn’t help but read said ‘you are everything I have and all I could ever need. Here living in this meadowland from now until we disappear’. And the living room. And the parlour. And the bedroom with the balcony. See across the fields there are memories holding memories speaking back to me. And the dining room. And the foyer. And the bedroom with the veranda. Smell the cedars now it’s all coming back in a dream that lasts. And we’ll honour that. Mirror let us know. Tarot let us know. Horoscope let us know.
